Period A: Pandora's Box

Pandora's Box was an important myth to the Ancient Greeks.  What conclusions might an ancient Greek draw about their world by reading  this story?

  1. The Ancient Greeks could conclude that even if life is grim, they still have hope no matter what.

  2. They might be wary of women and not trust them because Pandora did bad things. They might also think that all the bad things in the world are the fault of women.

  4. The conclusions that the ancient Greeks might draw about their world is that even if there is evil in the world there will always be some hope that will guide them through. Even if someone makes a mistake like Pandora opening the box full of evil it still represents that when someone messes up there is always something to guide them through. I do not think the ancient Greeks could get a bad message from this story.

  5. It would have degraded their view of women and they probably wouldn't trust them (like at the olympics).

  9. The ancient Greeks can conclude from this story that women are the cause of all the problems in the world and that they cannot be trusted. They can also conclude that hope can help to conquer anything.
